By: Aubrey Matzan, staff writer
Ever wanted to become a youtuber? Who doesn't want to make videos of what they got at the mall or pranking their parents and get paid? It is a fascinating idea but the truth is you dont make money overnight.

Youtube was created in 2005. People started using youtube by uploading videos of themselves for distant family members, marking their children's milestones, and uploading music videos. This grew into a people discovering their talent for creating videos and then from their on creating content for others entertainment. Big companies and corporations saw that hundreds and thousands of people were watching these videos, sometimes even millions. Companies offered youtube money to place ads in there videos for people to see. Now, creators also get a profit off of there videos once they hit certain milestones. Over the years the guidelines to monetization have gotten more complicated. Currently the creator needs 4,000 watch hours (which is the hours of people watching their videos) and at least 1,000 subscribers. Creators won't necessary hit these at the same time. These are also hard milestones to reach. For youtubers starting off it can take years to earn money off of there videos.
Now creators all around the world can make enough money to live a nice life styles for themselves. Look at The Ace Family, Alisha Marie, The Lebrants, and Shane Dawson they all had to start from somewhere and have been creating videos for years and years. If you want to be a youtuber you have to take into consideration it is a hard journey in which you need passion to motivate you not money.
